Tolerance evaluation for concrete driling and sawing
Tolerance evaluation of this specialized work can be viewed from a number of angles. Often, non-sufficiently controlled matters may stand out and become the primary target for future developments.
Tolerances form the preconditions for the accuracy or possible limitations during the planning. They are intended to separate amateurs from professionals and are available for advice and reference if there were a difference of opinion between colleagues.
The tolerances that are explained in this page are mainly destined for international regulations, since national tolerances may vary from country to country.
Some of the tolerances are as follows, national or supra-national limits for:
- Noise
- Transfer sound
- Safety at work
- Safety of machines and tools
- Pollution of air and water
In order to create trust, clarity, and certainty between planners, contractors and building owners, IACDS has created The Standard, IACDS S-Tolerances-2 2017.
This standard serves as a proposal for those countries that don’t have their national standards.
Maximum tolerances
As explained before, IACDS S-Tolerances-2 2017 include maximum tolerances for:
- Core drilling
- Diamond cutting of ceiling and walls
- Diamond cutting of floors
- Rail-mounted equipment
- Wheel-driven saws
- Wire sawing
Depending on their applicability, different measurements are addressed for those sawing and drilling activities.
