IACDS launches its Global Training and Certification Pathway

5/02/2024

The Global Training and Certification Pathway is finally here!

The project was first mentioned during the IACDS Annual Convention 2023 and was formally approved at the last IACDS General Assembly. But, what is it really about?

What does the Global Training and Certification Pathway entail?

The Global Training and Certification Pathway aims to promote industry services through the professional route of a recognised skilled workforce. This should be done by sharing a common training and qualification platform.

The online platform in question would contain courses based on existing materials, and translated to several local languages to make them more accessible to the public.

Once the qualification is obtained, the trainee will acquire a digital card to validate their certificate. It will include different identification details and last for several years.

This would result in different benefits, such as being backed by an international awarding body with one unified standard qualification, global certification and card scheme. This project would also promote collaboration among contractors, suppliers and manufacturers from all around the world.

For that purpose, each country would establish practical training venues and set up assessment centres, thus assuring quality control. Then, every country would report to the international hub, created by the IACDS.

Thus, this project is set to promote safer work, and a blended education format and make the training an easier process for everyone involved.

Who would participate in this project?

The IACDS intends to involve all of the actors of the industry: contractors, suppliers, National Associations, and others. For companies, participation in this pathway will reduce costs and liability, while improving the efficiency of training new workers.

On the other hand, the National Association will have an active role in promoting the project, obtaining much-deserved recognition.

During the following months, the association will start working on the implementation of the first level of training. We consider it a project of great importance and are excited to launch it.
