Discover DEMOSPEC’s job at the Diamond Award 2025

DEMOSPEC presents the job Sawing, drilling and lifting a deconstructed underground pedestrian tunnel as a candidate for the Diamond Awards 2025. The job, finished in February 2024, took place in Montreal, Quebec (Canada).

The deconstruction of an urban pedestrian tunnel connecting a metro station to a building had to be carried out to create an opening for passage, and two years later, its deconstruction was mandated.

The tunnel was located 20 meters underground but unusable. The cutting and drilling services of DEMOSPEC were put to the test and the entire operation was completed in two phases. Preliminary plans were analyzed by Demospec’s engineers and its estimation team to assess the project’s feasibility. Once planning was completed, it was determined that a subcontractor for excavation and a shoring subcontractor were also needed.
