CONCRETE CORING COMPANY, candidate for the Diamond Award 2025

Concrete Coring Company has joined Diamond Awards in the Job category with the Loop drive wire saw of the Matsushima viaduct.

It consists in the replacement of a four-lane highway bridge with 50 years of service. Due to its location in a densely populated residential area in Japan,  detours are not an option, and lane reductions would cause significant traffic congestion. To address these challenges, the project involves a step-by-step process: removing the center median, installing new girders, and carefully switching traffic to always maintain four lanes. The company wants to present this job with an innovative approach, ensuring the minimal disruption while replacing the aging structure.
