THAYR, shortlisted for the Diamond Award 2016

The Spanish company was selected shortlisted thanks to its job “Demolition of Ro-Ro ramp at the Mahon’s harbor”.
The first of them was a job where the first phase was to make holes Ø 150 mm and 400 mm thick in the slabs, for subsequent hoisting with crane and cutting of the slabs with ground cutting machine in squares of 4.00 x 4.00 m.
The second phase was the cutting of bracing and the capping with diamond wire.
And the third phase was to make two cuts on each pile, one at level -7 m and the second cut at level -15 m.
The closest piles to the dock were removed directly by the cranes, the company had to sink the piles farthest away, refloat them with balloons and bring them to the dock where the cranes rescued and hoisted them out of the water.
The CEO of the company THAYR, Mr. Fabian Alcudia, was the person in charge of receiving the recognition plate as a shortlisted.
