SNED’s training in concrete cutting

The French Demolition Association, SNED, member of IACDS, has a training program addressed to the operators of the concrete cutting companies.
The objective of the training program is to improve the specialization in security matters of the companies.
The first module, called “Sawing safe” was published in order to provide the operators a theoretical complement (reading plans, structures) and recognize their ability to perform.
A second training leading to a Certificate of Professional Qualification (CQP), is being developed.
The CQP “Scieur-carotteur de béton” has been validated by the CPNE (National Joint Committee for Employment) in July 2012 and the first training session began in September 2013.
SNED established a series of typical jobs that are cataloged in the form of fact sheets.
Each sheet describes the content of a typical job through:
- its material responsibilities
- its place in the chain of command
- its expected training
- its desired experience
- its level of autonomy
