Interactive offers and new seminar structure
3/02/2022

- This article was originally written by Mr. Thomas Springer, Chairman of the Association for Concrete Drilling and Sawing Germany e.V., for the IACDS Yearbook 2021.
It is the second year under the influence of the corona pandemic. The German concrete drilling and sawing industry recorded a stable economic situation. Restrictions such as hygiene protection and distance rules are established and integrated. In contrast, they have a greater influence on the work of the association. It is characterized by personal exchange on different platforms. This presented the office with new challenges. Our regional meetings took place virtually for the first time last year. As a result of necessity, the professional association is now set up in a much more interactive way. Video conferences and digital offerings have increased. This was made possible thanks to the committed work of the office team.
The training and further education committee headed by Britta Keinemann has converted our qualification into an innovative modular system. With the new structure, we are increasing the quality of our training opportunities. For example, in the basic seminars for drilling and sawing concrete, the number of participants is reduced and the practical part in dealing with individual machines is increased. This increases the intensity and effectiveness of the seminars. In future, the assignment of individual modules will be documented in a personal quality pass. We can establish new seminar content at any time using additional modules.
A few words on my own behalf: In September, after twelve years in office, my work as chairman of the German Association will end. I wish the IACDS all the best for the future and always a wise selection of new topics, which it will advance on an international level in the interests of its members and in the service of our industry.
