Germany passes the baton to the USA: Renewal of the IACDS Board of Directors

31/10/2022

27 of October was a memorable day for IACDS for several reasons. Firstly, it was the first face-to-face General Assembly meeting in more than 2 years and a half. We were all looking forward to meeting our friends and colleagues again or to getting to know each other personally after so many virtual meetings.

The other reason was that the Bavarian city of Munich was the place where the presidential term of Mr Michael Findeis began, representing Germany.

There we met again to bid farewell to his term as President of IACDS which, in his words, “had focused on disseminating and preserving industry knowledge” and he said goodbye with the pride of being “probably the only President with a green footprint” (covid helped).

After leading the General Assembly in which the projects developed throughout the year were explained to the members, the meeting concluded with the voting and approval of the new Board of Directors of the international association.

The new term will be led by Mr Douglas Walker as President of IACDS, representing the North American association, CSDA, and Mr Geog Lahofer, Board member representing Austria,
becomes the Treasurer.

On behalf of all IACDS members, we would like to congratulate them and wish them all the best for the new term.
